There is to be no additional scripture beyond the Bible! — Section 48

A Bible, a Bible, we already have a Bible

Representative of a Christian church:
The scriptures tell us that there was to be no additional scripture or holy writings added to or in addition to the Bible.  This is pointed out clearly in Revelations 22:18.  No other conclusion can be reached except that the Book of Mormon is fraudulent.

Missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints:
My friend, you will find identical statements in Deuteronomy 4:2 and Deuteronomy 12:32.  If we follow your line of reasoning, we cannot accept any writing after the book Deuteronomy found in the Bible.  What the apostle John was referring to as he made his statement in the book of Revelation when he said “book” was that anyone who added to or subtracted from the book of Revelation could lose that portion in the life to come.  The Bible was not even compiled at that time, so we would have to exclude the entire Bible, because it would then have been adding to revelations.
