Note: Several of our temples, when originally dedicated, did not have Angel Moroni statues, but have subsequently had statues added to the steeple. Examples of such temples are Ogden Utah Temple, Provo Utah Temple, Sao Paulo Brazil Temple, Boston Massachusetts Temple, Manhattan New York Temple, London England Temple, and Bern Switzerland Temple. Sister Chris Stocking has pointed out that the Angel Moroni representation on the original Nauvoo Temple displayed the angel in a horizontal or ‘flying’ position. The original Kirtland Temple had a weather vane rather than an angelic representation.
Note: It was recently announced (June 2019) that the Lima Peru Los Olivos Temple will have no spire and no Angel Moroni statue when it is completed. Likewise, the Orem Utah Temple will have no Angel Moroni statue.
