God in the spirit — 1 Peter 4:6
God in the spirit — 1 Peter 4:6
Question — 1 Peter 4:6 tells us that Christ lives “according to God, in the spirit”, so it is obvious that he is a spirit and does not have a body, as taught by Joseph Smith.
Answer —
- Luke 24:36-39 — Christ had his body after He was resurrected!
- Acts 1:9-11 — Christ will return in glory, WITH His body.
- James 2:26 — The body without the spirit is dead.
- Luke 23:46 — Christ’s spirit left his body when he was crucified.
- Romans 6:9-10 — Christ dieth no more! He has his body NOW.
- Hebrews 1:3 — Jesus is the express image of God, so God has a body also.
- Acts 7:55-56 — Stephen saw Christ standing on the right hand of God (standing, hand, etc.!)
- Genesis 32:23-30 — Jacob saw God face to face.
- Exodus 24:9-11 — Moses and 70 elders of Israel saw God.
- Exodus 33:20-23 — Hands and back of God were seen.
- Doctrine and Covenants 130:22 — God and Christ have bodies.
