Interviewing missionaries at the Training Center:
First Week
- How are you doing?
- Do you have any serious health issues? Medications? Diet restrictions?
- Have you read the Book of Mormon? Share an experience or a testimony.
- What leadership opportunities have you had, either in or out of the church?
- Did you earn your Eagle Scout award? Your Young Women’s medallion?
- How did you do in high school? What was your GPA?
- Is your family supportive of you being here? Do you anticipate homesickness?
- How are you doing with your companion? What have you learned so far about companion relationships?
- Do you have musical talent? Instrument? Singing?
- Have any questions arisen that we can help you with?
- Please be assured that we love and admire you.
- Remember Philippians 4:13 — I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me…
- Remember the importance of electronic device safeguards.
- Do you feel worthy to be here? Your branch president is your “bishop”.
- Feeling anxious or depressed or homesick?
- BECOME AS HE IS!
Second Week
- What challenges have you had? What has been your hardest challenge?
- Do you feel your testimony growing?
- How can you improve even more in the days that remain at the MTC?
- How do you feel about your MTC experience so far?
- Do you understand the difference between conversion and testimony?
- What has been your most rewarding or edifying experience thus far?
- What has been your experience with the TRC?
- What are you yearning for, or what is your greatest desire at this point?
- You are doing so GREAT, your progress is REMARKABLE, you are a great missionary.
- BECOME AS HE IS!
Third Week
- Praise the missionary for their growth and progress.
- What are your desires as you arrive in your field of labor?
- How will you conduct yourself while you travel to your field of labor?
- You have been sheltered here, but the real world awaits. Be prepared!
- What has been your most edifying experience at the MTC?
- Have you made a determination to obey all rules & the mission schedule?
- Have you learned the difference between obedience and exact obedience?
- Do you understand the importance of protecting your companion?
- How do you feel as you approach the time to head to your assigned mission?
- BECOME AS HE IS!
