In 2014, Elder Bednar visited the New Zealand Hamilton Mission.  He was the concluding speaker at a mission-wide training conference.  Following are some of the methods of his wonderful teaching style:

•  He had us prepare before the meeting by reading and praying about 3 talks

•  He asked inspired questions

•  He checked for understanding of our replies

•  He then asked another inspired question

•  He then had us teach ourselves (what has the Spirit taught you as we have conversed?)

•  He reinforced the principle discussed

•  He then promised blessings
