STIMULATOR message for the week of March 21, 1972

Message from President Eugene C. Ludwig, dated March 21, 1972

“Without some goal and some effort to reach it, no man can live!”

Dear Fellow Missionaries:

“Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks.”  (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)  The Lord truly has blessed the missionaries in our Mission.  He will continue to bless you as you show by your actions that you are truly HIS representatives.  Never let down in searching out those awaiting baptism.  Prepare yourselves to be ready for the doors the Lord opens for you.

Remember, ‘missionary’ is more than just a title.  It takes more than being set apart to be a ‘missionary’.  ‘Missionary’ is an obligation.  ‘Missionary’ is a responsibility.  ‘Missionary is a standard to look up to.  ‘Missionary’ is a love of God and man.

The New Zealand South Mission is full of ‘quality missionaries’.  How did they become ‘quality missionaries’?  In four easy steps —
1. A desire to serve — NZSM ‘missionaries’ know this is the best job in the world.  They want to build up the Kingdom of God and bring happiness to everyone through the message they have.  Service is their desire and love is their strength.
2. A wealth of knowledge — NZSM ‘missionaries’ gain knowledge through constant study of the mission library.  They know that they must be sure of what they teach and that a better than ‘working’ knowledge of the scriptures is essential.  But they are careful not to plunge too deeply into doctrine with investigators, who need the ‘milk’ of the Gospel before the ‘meat’.
3. A willingness to forego praise — NZSM ‘missionaries’ are quick to give credit to the Lord for the success they have together.  They lose thought of self and devote their two years to those around them who are searching for the truth.
4. Honest introspection — NZSM ‘missionaries’ are honest with themselves and realize the value of constructive criticism and suggestions from those around them.  They seek to recognize their weaknesses and spare no effort to improve.

Let’s have every ‘MISSIONARY’ in the New Zealand South Mission a “QUALITY MISSIONARY”.  We can and we will succeed in the work of the Lord.

Faithfully your companion,

President Eugene C. Ludwig

“IT WILL TAKE A BETTER EFFORT TO BETTER YOUR BEST!”
