STIMULATOR message for the week of February 22, 1972
Message from President Eugene C. Ludwig, dated February 22, 1972
“GOD REVEALS HIMSELF UNFAILINGLY TO THE THOUGHTFUL SEEKERS.”
We appreciate your dedication to the work of finding, preparing, and baptizing our Heavenly Father’s children here in New Zealand. Bertie Charles Forbes has stated, “What’s worth doing is worth doing well. And to do anything well, whether it be typing a letter or drawing up an agreement involving millions of dollars, we must give not only our hands to the doing of it, but our brains, our enthusiasm, the best, our all, all that is in us. The task to which you dedicate yourself can never become a drudgery.” It is a real opportunity and privilege to serve in the great mission with so many missionaries who are completely dedicated to missionary work.
What a thrill it is for us to read of a missionary who has had three group meetings, or has given 10 or more discussions in a week. How wonderful it is to know that those who are baptizing every week are experiencing blessings never before equaled in their lives. How inspiring to see the answer to specific prayer, the entering into the waters of baptism of a united family, and the growth of a testimony to surmount all obstacles for baptism.
The missionary who experiences the greatest spiritual blessings by having consistent baptisms each week knows the only way to do this is to be humble, prayerful, and prepared to teach the inspired discussions with the Spirit of the Lord. How can anyone gain a greater testimony of the Gospel than when the Holy Ghost is working through YOU and YOUR COMPANION as you give these discussions to bear witness that the Church is true? 1 Nephi 13:37 states, “And blessed are they who shall seek to bring forth my Zion at that day, for they shall have the gift and the power of the Holy Ghost; and if they endure unto the end they shall be lifted up at the last day, and shall be saved in the everlasting kingdom of the Lamb; and whoso shall publish peace, yea, the tidings of great joy, how beautiful upon the mountains shall they be.”
May God bless you to do the things you need to do in your area so that you will never let one day pass by without giving at least two discussions. We know you can do it. We know that you will do it. Your spirit and capacity to share the Gospel is unsurpassed.
