New Zealand Hamilton Mission, June 2015 — Insights, wisdom, and truths learned
Truths and thoughts from June 2015
- June 3, 2015:
- Elder Cook — love your companion, love the people among whom you are working, love your mission president, love the Lord.
- Elder Nielson — your mission is preparing you to be a better husband or wife, to be a better father or mother. The Lord will put people in your path. This is one of the greatest statements in Preach My Gospel.
- June 25, 2015 — Zone Meeting, Taranaki Zone
- The Zone Leaders talked about not using the word ‘guys’ when talking to each other or to members of the Church. They decided that for every use of the word ‘guys’, the guilty elder would need to do 10 pushups. After a lengthy discussion, one of the Zone Leaders said, “So what do you guys think about our new plan?”
- Count all people as members of your immediate family. We are not engaged in a popularity contest.
- How to prepare for an exchange: 1) Know the doctrine 2) Have some personal goals you want to achieve 3) Have some questions you would like answered 4) Do the work in a mindframe of ‘seeking’ 5) Learn a new strength during the exchange 6) Plan to do all of the various aspects of missionary work.
