New Zealand Hamilton Mission, December 2014 — Insights, wisdom, and truths learned
Truths and thoughts from December 2014
- December 4, 2014 — Taranaki Zone Meeting
- Faith = ‘focused thoughts’
- Doctrine and Covenants 44 describes why we MUST have faith.
- Read — receive — ponder — receive more
- In 2 Nephi 32 we learn that words tell and the Holy Ghost shows.
- Be careful and obedient with your phone calls to home on Christmas Day
- With the use of cars, have a ‘DNA’. The ‘DN’ stands for ‘do not’. Do not speed, brake harshly, cut corners, jump curbs
- Hand out as many ‘Christmas Lights cards’ as you can
- December 16 — NZHM Mission Conference
- Pray for water, pray for good weather
- District meetings can be 90 minutes in length.
- Use accountability indicators
- Set zone and district goals regularly.
- Utilize the “He is the Gift” initiative. Read the “He is the Gift” Ensign article with branch members.
- Discover, embrace, share.
- Ask members and non-members — “What is the true meaning of Christmas?” and “What is God’s greatest gift to us?”.
- December 18 — Hawera District meeting
- God’s phone number = 222-1111 (2 bended knees, 2 folded arms, 2 closed eyes, 1 bowed head, 1 soft heart, 1 focused mind, 1 contrite soul)
- Don’t let the fear of striking out prevent you from playing the game.
- Fear:
- Moroni 8:16 — “I fear not what man can do, for perfect love casteth out all fear.”
- Doctrine and Covenants 6:34-36 — “Therefore, fear not, little flock; do good, let earth and hell combine against you, fir if ye are built upon my rock, they cannot prevail. Look unto me in every thought, doubt not, fear not.”
- Doctrine and Covenants 30:11 — “…you shall ever open your mouth in my cause, not fearing what man can do, for I am with you.”
- Doctrine and Covenants 68:6 — “…be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you…”
- Doctrine and Covenants 84:88 — “I shall go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up.”
