Have I Done Any Good On My Mission Today?
The missionary version of a popular hymn:
First verse:
Have I done any good on my mission today?
Have I taught anyone in need?
Have I planned a good day, and then gone on my way?
If not, I have failed indeed.
Has anyone’s faith been strengthened today,
Because I was willing to share?
Have the Browns or the Wilsons been helped on their way?
When they needed more love was I there?
Chorus:
Then wake up, and knock on a door,
Don’t dream of your old life back home.
To teach is a pleasure, a joy beyond measure,
A blessing of duty and love.
Second verse:
There are chances to teach all around right now,
Opportunities right in my way.
I can’t let them pass by, saying “Sometime I’ll try”,
I must give a strong challenge today.
‘Tis noble of teachers to work and to share,
God’s labor has merit alone.
Only we who do something are worthy to stay,
This work has no place for the drone.
