The Fortnight Plan — A Promise from the Lord
The FORTNIGHT Plan, used in the New Zealand Hamilton Mission during our service there. The Plan was presented to all investigators who would accept it.
• The Challenge:
. 1) John 7:17 says, “If any man will DO [God’s] will, he shall KNOW of the doctrine, whether it be of God…”. In other words, DO first and then you will KNOW!
. 2) The challenge is this — for two weeks (a fortnight), ACT as if you are an active member of the Church and live an LDS lifestyle. DO it, and your faith will grow.
• The Four Steps:
. 1) Pray personally, with real intent, twice a day, asking the Lord to help you come again unto Him.
. 2) Read the Book of Mormon every day. Begin your reading with a prayer that you can know of the truthfulness of the Book. As you read, ask yourself if
. Joseph Smith could have written this book. Review the suggested scriptures listed below.
. 3) Hold a Family Home Evening with the missionaries two Mondays in a row.
. 4) Attend Church twice, tow Sundays in a row.
• The Promise:
. 1) Moroni 10:5 — “…by the power of the Holy Ghost you may know the truth of all things.”
. 2) You have nothing to lose and eternity to gain.
