Bishop’s Business Card and High Council Sunday

BISHOP’S BUSINESS CARD

A new LDS bishop was visiting in the homes of his ward members. At one house it seemed obvious that someone was at home, but no answer came to his repeated knocks at the door. Therefore, he took out a business card and wrote “Revelation 3:20” on the back of it and stuck it in the door.

When the tithing donations were processed the following Sunday, he found that his card had been returned. Added to it was this scripture reference: “Genesis 3:10.”

Reaching for his Bible to check out the quotation, the bishop broke up in gales of laughter.

Revelation begins: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock.”

Genesis reads, “I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.”

Remember when the funniest jokes were the clean ones? They still are!

Proverbs reads: “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.”

HIGH COUNCIL SUNDAY

It was High Council Sunday today, and our speaker started with a little Mormon humor.  He started, “A gunman held captive a Bishop, a Primary President, and a member of the High Council.  The gunman told the three that they could each have one last wish.  The Primary President said she would like to sing her favorite Primary hymn, the high councilman said that he would like to give his greatest Sacrament meeting talk, and the Bishop said he would like to be shot right after the Primary hymn.
