St. George condominium — 1992
In 1992 Susan and I decided to buy a condominium in St. George, in order that we might have an enjoyable place to vacation with our children, to have a place to which we could retire, and to have a place to get out of the snow and inclement winter weather of Salt Lake City. We considered travel trailers, fold-out trailers, tenting, and other options, but thought a condo would fit best with our temperaments and desires for our family. We found a cute condo in St. George at a great price, and we enjoyed our time there so much, with swimming, tennis, biking, golf, hiking, eating, and visiting Zions National Park. We had many happy experiences with our children and with our extended families in St. George. Unfortunately, this condo became a tremendous financial drain. We tried putting the condo in a rental pool for a few months, and that was a disastrous decision. We would come back to the condo to find all kinds of abuses to the condo, the furniture, and the appliances. The selling of the unit became the only viable option. We have since purchased a travel trailer which we have enjoyed immensely.
