Letter of Recommendation for Anne — January 2000
To whom it may concern and to those interested:
I have been asked to write a letter of reference and recommendation for my daughter, Anne Taylor. Although it is difficult to write such a letter without being accused of favoritism and bias, I nonetheless will try to be objective.
Anne is not only a wonderful daughter, but she is a wonderful friend as well. She is very outgoing and fun-loving, and is widely liked by those who know her. She is a very giving person with a talent for sensing needs and wants in her associates. She loves to be of service to others, and good deeds punctuate her daily life.
As the oldest of six children, Anne has learned patience and the importance of being a good example. She has served as a role model for her younger sister, and also for her brothers. She has been an excellent student, maintaining a 3.8 GPA, and she has always been respectful of and obedient to us as parents. Raising Anne has been a delight, as we have never had to worry about her choice of friends or activities because she has always made wise and prudent choices.
Anne is a good time manager. She understands the value of making good use of time, and seems to always be involved in worthwhile projects or activities. Anne has never been one to simply sit in front of a television wasting inordinate amounts of time. Rather, she fills her days with school assignments, nurturing her friendships, and serving others.
Of her own accord, Anne decided during her junior year in high school to enroll in the Dental Assistant program offered by Provo High School. Thus, during her senior year, she split her days between classes at Provo High and dental classes at Utah Valley State College. By the time she graduated from Provo High, she had successfully completed the classroom work for her Dental Assistant degree and was well on her way to completing the required dental internships. During this difficult training, she maintained a high grade-point-average and demonstrated great maturity and dedication to this challenging task. Her instructors and the dentists that she interned with had nothing but praise for her excellent performance.
In summary, Anne Taylor is a person of great loyalty, discipline, maturity beyond her years, and goodness. She can be counted on to make sound choices. She is a very hard worker and always accomplishes tasks which she undertakes. She has been and will continue to be a valuable asset to her family, her church, her employers, and her friends. I love her deeply and am grateful for the wonderful influence she has had in my life and the lives of those who love her.
