Alpha Epsilon Delta — 1975 to 1976
During my years at the Brigham Young University, I was active in the pre-medical student organization, Alpha Epsilon Delta. I served as the organization’s vice-president during my junior and senior years. It was a fine opportunity for service, and it increased my understanding of the rigors of the medical profession in general, and of the difficulties of medical schooling specifically. Our responsibilities as officers included arranging for monthly speakers, keeping track of our small budget, and holding yearly elections. It was advantageous that we officers became personally acquainted with the Dean of Admissions at the University of Utah Medical School, Dr. Fred Anderson, as we invited him to speak to our club all three years that I was involved. I feel that this involvement was helpful as I applied to and was accepted at the University of Utah Medical School.
