Elder Marion G. Romney of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles
- Elder Romney was born in Colonia Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico on September 19, 1897
- His father was George S. Romney and his mother was Artemesia Redd.
- When Marion was 14 years old, he and his family were driven out of the Mexican Colonies during the Mexican Revolution. The family came to Utah.
- Elder Romney attended the University of Utah and received both a B.A. degree and an LL.B degree (Bachelor of Laws).
- He married Ida Jensen in 1924. They were the parents of two sons.
- He served as a missionary in Australia for three years.
- He served as the bishop of the Salt Lake 33rd Ward in the Liberty Stake for three years.
- He served as the President of the Bonneville Stake for four years.
- In April of 1941, he was called as an Assistant to the Council of Twelve. He was 44 years of age at that time.
- In October of 1951, he was called to serve as an Apostle in the Quorum of the Twelve. He was 54 years of age.
- In July of 1972, President Harold B. Lee called him to serve as Second Counselor in the First Presidency.
- In December of 1973, President Spencer W. Kimball called him to serve as Second Counselor in the First Presidency.
- In December of 1982, President Spencer W. Kimball called him to serve as First Counselor in the First Presidency.
- Upon the death of President Spencer W. Kimball in November of 1985, he became the President of the Quorum of the Twelve.
- He died in May 1988 at the age of 90. He passed away in Salt Lake City.
