Come unto the Savior!

Seven poignant and sobering scriptures that point us to the ultimate source of happiness and fulfillment:

  • Matthew 11:28-30 — “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
  • Mosiah 3:19 — “For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of A dam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father.”
  • Mosiah 4:2-3 — “And they had viewed themselves in their own carnal state, even less than the dust of the earth.  And they all cried aloud with one voice, saying: O have mercy, and apply the atoning blood of Christ that we may receive forgiveness of our sins, and our hearts may be purified; for we believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who created heaven and earth, and all things; who shall come down among the children of men.  And it came to pass that after they had spoken these words, the Spirit of the Lord came upon them, and they were filled with joy, having received a remission of their sins, and having peace of conscience, because of the exceeding faith which they had in Jesus Christ who should come…”
  • Mosiah 7:33 — “But if ye will turn to the Lord with full purpose of heart, and put your trust in him, and serve him with all diligence of mind, if ye do this, he will, according to his own will and pleasure, deliver you out of bondage.”
  • Alma 38:8-9 — “And it came to pass that I was three days and three nights in the most bitter pain and anguish of soul; and never, until I did cry out unto the Lord Jesus Christ for mercy, did I receive a remission of my sins.  But behold, I did cry unto him and I did find peace to my soul.  And now, my son, I have told you this that ye may learn wisdom, that ye may learn of me that there is no other way or means whereby man can be saved, only in and through Christ.  Behold, he is the life and the light of the world.  Behold, he is the word of truth and righteousness.”
  • Helaman 3:35 — “Nevertheless they did fast and pray oft, and did wax stronger and stronger in their humility, and firmer and firmer in the faith of Christ, unto the filling their souls with joy and consolation, yea, even to the purifying and the sanctification of their hearts, which sanctification cometh because of their yielding their hearts unto God.”
  • Helaman 5:12 — “And now, my sons, remember, remember that it si upon the rock of our Redeemer, whoo is Christ, the sSonof God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devi lshall send fo rth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts inthe whirlwind, yea, when all his hal and his mighty storm shall beat uno you, it shall have no power over you to darg you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, becaue f the rock upon ywhcihye are built, which is a sure foundation, a duondation whereon if men build theny cannlt faill.”
