  • Remarks:  Elder Pratt was murdered in Arkansas by the former husband of one of Elder Pratt’s plural wives.  He is buried near Alma, Arkansas.  Elder Pratt was an indefatigable disciple of the Lord during his entire apostolic ministry.  In 2008, the members of the Pratt family obtained legal permission to exhume the remains of Elder Pratt and to bring those remains to Utah for burial in an honorary site.  However, due to the wet clay soil and 151 years of total decomposition, no identifiable human remains or bones were recovered. The family brought some of the soil from the burial site in Arkansas to Utah and placed that soil in an honorary burial place.
  • Inspirational quote:  “The gift of the Holy Ghost…quickens all the intellectual faculties, increases, enlarges, expands, and purifies all the natural passions and affections, and adapts them, by the gift of wisdom, to their lawful use.”
