  • Remarks:  Orson Pratt was the younger brother of fellow-apostle Parley P. Pratt.  Orson was excommunicated for apostasy on August 20, 1842, but was re-baptized and readmitted to the Quorum of the Twelve on January 20, 1843. As a result of this time out of the Quorum, he was moved back in seniority in the Quorum in June of 1875.  He lived the longest of all of the original members of the Quorum of the Twelve.  Under the direction of Brigham Young, Elder Pratt published ‘The Seer’, which became a standard doctrinal document for the Church.
