  • Remarks Elder Ivins served in the First Presidency, being called into that position by President Heber J. Grant.  Elder Ivins was a cousin of President Heber J. Grant —  Elder Ivins’s mother and President Grant’s mother were sisters, surnamed Ivins.  In 1878, Elder Ivins married Elizabeth A. Snow, a daughter of Erastus Snow, an apostle of the Church; they had nine children. His son, Antoine R. Ivins also served as a general authority of the Church.
