Hiram Page, one of the 8 witnesses that were allowed to view the plates from which the Book of Mormon was translated, made this significant statement about the origins of the Book of Mormon:  “To say that a man of Joseph’s [Smith] ability, who at the time did not know how to pronounce the name Nephi, could write a book of six-hundred pages, as correct as the Book of Mormon, without supernatural power, would be to treat the God of heaven with contempt, to deny these testimonies.”
