4/ Internal evidence of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon:
- It took the prophet Joseph less than 3 months to translate the Book of Mormon.
- He was essentially an unschooled farmboy, with very limited knowledge of the world.
- He wrote in detail about life in the Holy Lands and in ancient America.
- Consider Jacob 5 alone — how much would Joseph have known about vineyards, olive groves, cultivating these trees, grafting, nurturing, transplanting, etc.
- Elephants, cement, steel, etc.?
- James Michener, the prolific author of more than 40 historical novels, would often take 2 to 3 years just to study the historical background of the areas about which he wrote.
- The scribes of the Book of Mormon testified that not one single time did Joseph ask to have anything repeated as he would resume translating.
- Alma 34:37-41: could Joseph Smith have written these words?
- “No deceitful man could have written the Book of Mormon; no righteous man would have tried.”
5/ The Lord’s “work” is described in Moses 1:39. Do you know where OUR “work” is clearly defined? ______________________
