Finishers Wanted!

New Beginnings presentation — Hawera Branch — March 2015

Hawera Branch New Beginnings program — March 2015 — Hawera, New Zealand

Finishers wanted!

  • President Monson — window shopping — furniture store — beautiful pieces — eyes drawn to sign– “Finishers Wanted” — not  those who construct, but those who polish, hem, straighten, perfect, beautify
  • In life, those who are content with ‘functional’ furniture, there are many of them, but few ‘finishers’ (details, eliminating flaws, adding beauty, special touches, enhance, perfect)
  • Apostle Paul — we all run, but only one wins the prize; run therefore to obtain
  • King David — race not to swift, or battle to the strong.  Race is for the persistent, consistent, devoted, dedicated
  • Apostle Paul — I have fought a good, finished the course
  • Willie Willis — started strong, always finished last.  Lacked a good coach.
  • Rich young ruler — eternal life, all these I have kept…, he turned away ashamed
  • Judas — beginning?  wonderful.  End? faltered
  • Job — stayed on course despite tribulation
  • Jesus — strong throughout, he went about doing good, 100% of the time, despite tribulation
  • DISH – daily inspiring spiritual habits, SOAP – scriptures, obedience, acts..service, prayer
  • Let your beginning be glorious, but keep your eye on the ultimate goal — finishing gloriously!
