STIMULATOR message for the week of May 1, 1973
Starting with the January 1, 1973 edition of the Stimulator, President Sant no longer included a Mission President’s message
Notes from the field:
“I am nigh unto bursting right now. The joy is just so great! To baptize Brother ____ this week, bring a potential priesthood holder into the Church, and unite a family in preparation for the temple has been the height of my mission and life. I attribute it all to the Lord, and I can say that I have never known this feeling so fully before. I am going to see many such families converted to the Church. Alma 26:22 lets me know just how many souls it is possible to save, and at that time it seemed possible. What a mission I am having.” Elder Mitchell.
“The Lord did it again for us. There is no doubt in my mind who is behind the success we have had here in Wanganui. To see a family so completely changed in just three short weeks is a modern day miracle in and of itself. I cannot find words to tell you my joy when the ___ family was baptized yesterday. When I stop to consider how blessed I am to be used as an instrument in God’s hands, it becomes quite sobering. I love to baptize for my Father in Heaven. There is no substitute for it. Baptism is the fountain of all joy!” Elder Wallin.
“It was amazing to watch Brother ____ being baptized. He was down from Fernhill. We began with challenging and ended with challenging and testifying. We went as far as possible and still he wouldn’t budge, so we left it to the Lord. I have never seen such a day and night change. What a conversion. The Lord still works in a day like the Book of Mormon illustrates.” Elder Skinner.
