- First we obey, THEN we understand! (John 7:17)
- Stick to the basic missionary library; if you have other books or materials, send them home.
- Elder F. Burton Howard gave a talk entitled, “Approaching the Sacred Grove”. Fill in the following blank personally: “Because of the First Vision, I ____.”
- Doctrine and Covenants 20:11 says, speaking of the Book of Mormon: “Proving to the world that the holy scriptures are true, and that God does inspire men and call them to his holy work…” The Book of Mormon is PROOF!
- The Angel Moroni quoted the words of several ancient prophets to the young Prophet Joseph Smith, establishing a tie between former prophets and the new current prophet.

- Alma 26:22 — 1) Repent 2) Exercise faith 3) Bring forth good works 4) Pray continually. This will allow you to bring thousands of souls to repentance.

- Theme of the day is The Book of Mormon.
- Our unique message is of the Restoration, which led to the Book of Mormon, the law of tithing, the law of chastity, the restoration of the Priesthood, and proper Sabbath Day observance.
- The Book of Mormon was the first of these revelations, as it was evidence of the truth. It was necessary!
- The Book of Mormon serves three main purposes: 1) It witnesses that God inspires prophets. 2) It witnesses that God’s Church is now on the earth. 3) It witnesses that the Bible is true, as well as the Book of Mormon.
- 1) Numbers 12:6 — “…Hear now my words; If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him a dream.” 2) Doctrine and Covenants 1:38 — “What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled, whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same.”
- We are not obligated to answer every question, just to testify and invite.
- Notice that in the very first chapter of Nephi, Lehi has a vision. This is revelation, and it is presented in the very first verse of the Book of Mormon.
- Announce the Book of Mormon properly, with dignity, valuing its importance. We need to preach the Book of Mormon in every lesson, every conversation, every encounter.
- John 5:39 — Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
- John 6:35 — I am the bread of life; he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
- Moroni 10:3-4 — Read, Remember, Ponder, Receive!
- B-R-E-A-D == Background (introduction), Read and Receive, Expound, Apply, Double testify!
- President Marion G. Romney proclaimed the power and testimony of the Book of Mormon. He also pointed out that there were disciples in the Book of Mormon who had the witness of the Spirit and knew it not.
- The Savior mentions ‘baptism’ ELEVEN times in 3 Nephi 11!
- January 27, 2015 — District meeting
- Every one of us needs to give away at least one copy of the Book of Mormon today, with our testimony written in it. Text the zone leaders when you have accomplished this goal TODAY! We all need to use the Book of Mormon more effectively.
