New Zealand Hamilton Mission, June 2014 — Insights, wisdom, and truths learned
Truths and thoughts from June 2014
- District meeting, June 3, 2014
1) Revelation can come to us and to our investigators through the Book of Mormon; see Preach My Gospel page 104. - Sacrament meeting, June 8, 2014
1) President Jones talked about Satan’s B-L-A-S-T and how he hopes to BLAST each of us. BLAST equals B oredom, L oneliness, A nger, S tress,
and T ired. - District meeting, June 17, 2014
1) We need to extend more baptismal challenges. We now have twice the number of missionaries in Taranaki Zone but the same number of baptisms.
2) Don’t email other missionaries in the New Zealand Hamilton Mission.
3) Brother Marshall told our young missionaries that the best advice he could give them would be to ‘love the dog’! In other words, when you go into
someone’s home, make a fuss over their pet or pets. If the people see you loving their animals, they will have warm feelings toward you. Do this
even if you dislike pets or animals. - Zone meeting, June 28, 2014
1) The zone goal for baptisms in the month of July is SEVEN!
20 We were told that President Gordon B. Hinckley designed the current missionary planner. (LDS rumor?)
3) Missionary keys: Teach and Testify, Invite and Inspire, Promise and Praise.
4) A beautiful cycle: True doctrine (the WHY) leads to Hope (the WHAT), which leads to Action (the HOW), which results in Personal Witness.
5) Great questions to ask potential investigators: What is your purpose in life? What matters most to you? Do you feel that anything is missing in your life?
