A temple coincidence — 1989
During the summer of 1989, I went to the Jordan River Temple to do an initiatory session. I was progressing through the session when one of the workers, during a lull, said, “Brother Taylor, you remind me very much of a Bishop Taylor I know. He has long arms, long legs, and a high waist like you do.” The rest of our conversation went as follows:
“Who is this Bishop Taylor?”
“He is Bishop Bobbie Taylor from Redmesa, Colorado.”
“That’s remarkable! My father, Dean Taylor, was born in Redmesa!”
“Do you mean Hal Taylor’s brother, Dean?”
“Yes!”
“Well, I am Ralph Slade, and I grew up in Redmesa, and knew your father and all his brothers!”
It turned out that this Bobbie Taylor was one of my dad’s cousins, and we met him that next summer when we took our trip to Redmesa. I shared this remarkable experience with Hal and Russell the next time I saw them, and we all marveled.
