Taking minutes — 1989
We had a humorous incident in one of our Teachers Quorum presidency meetings in May 1989. Our newly-called Teachers Quorum secretary was told that it was his responsibility to take accurate minutes in each presidency meeting. He dutifully pulled out some paper and a pen, and the meeting proceeded. The following week, Chad was asked to give us the minutes from the earlier meeting. He pulled out his sheet and proudly stated, “We started at 11:30 and ended at 12:06, so our meeting lasted exactly 36 minutes.” This was a great example of poor teaching on our part and strict obedience on an obedient young man’s part.
