— Prophetic calling witnessed — 1974
In January of 1974, I recorded the following in my journal: “Sunday was a very special, spiritual day. We got acquainted with our new branch at Brigham Young University. During our Sunday School lesson, our teacher gave us all a challenge to get a personal testimony that President Kimball is a true prophet, and as she spoke the very words of the challenge, the Holy Spirit bore witness to my heart and soul that he is a prophet! It was the highlight of my week. That night, I attended a fireside with Elder James E. Faust as the speaker. His closing testimony was especially moving. He intimated that all of the former prophets and the Savior himself were present in the temple when the mantle of leadership fell on President Kimball! I love this Church, and I love the whisperings of the Spirit that accompany the pursuit of righteousness.”
