Uncle Lynn’s fence — 1973
— The building of Uncle Lynn’s fence, St. George, Utah — 1973
I had a glorious experience on the 16th and 17th of November, 1973. I traveled with my Dad, Uncle Hal, and Grandpa and Grandma Taylor down to St. George to help Uncle Lynn put up a new fence to enclose his horse property. We worked during the afternoon of the first day, slept in Uncle Lynn’s home, and then worked the whole next day. There was much good-hearted ribbing, a lot of sweat, and an abundance of love and brotherhood. The fence was not expertly installed, but it was functional and erected with much love and care. I felt much closer to these great people after this excursion, and I will long cherish the memory of it. I marvel at the abundance of love and family closeness that exists between Leo and Stella and their many sons. Erecting barns, erecting fences, riding horses together, and countless other experiences together have continued into their adult lives. No distance is too great and no sacrifice is too large as these wonderful relatives continue to love and serve each other.
